Single-handedly saving the whole planet, one upcycled product at a time!
I've always admired the art of quilting and the stories woven into its designs. Just as cornrow patterns once served as maps for Indigenous and enslaved African people, and Irish Aran sweater patterns told tales of the seas and its sailors, art reflects the culture that creates it. My designs are no different—they tell a story about me and my heritage. Perhaps one of them is speaking to you right now.
I carry the legacy of colorful characters like my Great-Uncle Jimmy Duckfoot, Gatorfoot Harry, Uncle Slim, and Aunt Queenie, to name a few. They live on in my memory and the memories of those they touched. I strive to create something enduring, something that my great-niece might discover 50 years from now and exclaim, "This is sooo cool!" That's why it's crucial for me to craft these pieces to withstand the test of time—and the rigors of everyday use. Plus, we can play a small part in keeping today's fast fashion out of landfills. Baby steps, right? My journey as a handmade and upcycled tote bags and decorative pillows design company is fueled by a commitment to artistry and practicality. Each unique tote bag or decorative pillow from JimmyDuckfoot has its own story—not just in its design but in the upcycled materials that form its fabric.
At JimmyDuckfoot, we celebrate the beauty of imperfection. Life and sustainability are complex tapestries, and we aren't afraid to laugh at ourselves along the way. We know the path to a greener future isn't always straightforward, and a little humor helps navigate the twists and turns. We embrace learning and adapting, and our willingness to acknowledge every step of our journey, with its imperfections, makes us truly genuine. We are inspired to embrace our unique spirit with a smile as we work together to make the world a better place, one stunning design at a time.
Who are 'WE?'...well if you made it to this part...You and Me are WE now. The JimmyDuckfoot community is growing! How cool is that?!!
